From Wellington, we joined our small Intrepid tour group for a ferry ride across Cook Strait and into Picton. We made our way to the city of Nelson, gateway to Abel Tasman National Park. The park offers a variety of treks, and with a lift from the water taxi we got in a full day of hiking along the beaches and seaside slopes.
