From Queenstown, we passed through sleepy Te Anau on our way through Fiordland on the way to the magnificent Milford Sound. The dramatic views finally brought us to the sound (actually a fjord), where high peaks plunge into deep blue-green waters. Our cruise took us past several waterfalls and out to the ocean, where we could see how well disguised the entrance was from early explorers.
